Agent Opportunities
Because this is a career based
on selling, your success will
depend on your ability to develop both your selling and product
knowledge skills, as well as your management skills. As such, the
Farmers Insurance Group of Companies® offers one of the most
unique and comprehensive training programs in the industry.
The first 12 months:
We call the initial phase of our program the "Reserve Agent
Program." Unlike most companies, the Farmers Reserve Agent
Program provides for a minimum of four months up to 12 months,
depending on your individual pace and development, as you work
on a part-time basis with your District Manager to learn the
Farmers companies' way of doing business and how to sell
insurance, while you keep your current job. This is different from
many other companies which require you to quit your current job
and begin selling and training on a full-time basis immediately
upon appointment. The Reserve Program gives you, and the
Farmers companies, an opportunity to decide if this is the right
career for you.
The next 24 months:
If you decide to become a full-time agent with Farmers
companies in your state, you will begin the next phase -- the
Career Program. During the next 24 months of the Career
Program, you may receive a financial subsidy while developing
your agency and continuing your sales and management skill
training.
The rest of your career:
Upon completion of the Career Program, you will have the
opportunity to continually enhance your skills and professionalism
by attending additional classes provided by the Business Support
Centers and/or an outside training organization.
We are very proud of our
program for new agents and know it is
very effective, based on our high agent retention ratio -- one of
the best in the industry.
